Who We Are
NKYChoice is a coalition of business owners, property owners, and individuals concerned with the loss of personal and economic freedom that accompanies smoking bans. We seek to educate the public on the lesser known consequences of smoking bans, and propose alternate proposals to a smoking ban that would avoid the known unintended consequences of smoking bans.
Unlike those who are proponents of the ban, NKYchoice is collecting and presenting all of the facts on a volunteer basis - there are no tax dollars, nor corporate contributions, being used to fund this work.
This issue crosses party lines. Other organizations and individuals have joined - Democrats, Republicans, and Independents - and are helping collect information and spread the word. We accept volunteer and moral support from anyone in the community seeking a better way.
The Libertarian Party of Kentucky funds this website. The LPKY has sponsored the $50 spent so far (in comparison to $3100 in taxpayer dollars spent by the opposition on their website so far), and has done a portion of volunteer work, the total value of which is approximately $300.
Another local freedom-minded group has been involved, but to date wishes to remain unnamed.
We are working with other groups, to present other compromise plans to prevent the extreme ban.
NKYchoice wishes to be as open as possible, both with the facts and with who we are. We are not hiding behind any other organization, nor are we being funded by taxpayer-funded entities with their own ulterior motives.
